HELP: System Range Filters

Range filters provide a means for fine tuning a data request. An upper limit and/or a lower limit can be specified for an item by typing the desired values into the appropriate range filter fields. Not specifying a value for a item’s limit places no constraint.

EXAMPLE:

From the Tabular Output Options screen, X,Y, and Z have been selected to be the columns in the output list for the GEO coordinate system for the CRRES spacecraft for some time range. In the GEO filter screen all “greater than:” and “less than:” values have been left blank, with the exception of the “less than:” value for the X coordinate which is set to 3000km. The generated output list of CRRES’s locations will be GEO X,Y, and Z coordinate sets, which have X coordinate values that are less than or equal to 3000km.

If more than one range filters have been specified, the decision to retain the data as part of the output is based upon the the selection made for the “Range filtering method” radio-button located on the “Tabular Output Options” form. If the method specified is “AND”, then for a line of computed values to be included in the output, each computed value needs to be within its corresponding range’s limits if any were specified. If the method specified is “OR”, then only one of the specified range filters need be passed by the appropriate computed value in order for the line of data to be included in the output.
